Introduced in 2026 as the successor to the long-running PP-2000, the PP-2200 is Phasemation's new reference standard moving-coil cartridge. Its magnetic circuit, housing and connection system were fundamentally reconsidered to improve fine-detail resolution, spatial expression and ease of installation.

Refined magnetic circuit

The magnetic circuit was rebalanced for highly efficient power generation. Phasemation says this improves the resolution of subtle musical information and produces a more immersive soundstage.

Titanium and DLC housing

The housing consolidates its contact points into a single location and is precision machined by Yuki Precision. The body changes from duralumin to more rigid Grade 64 titanium, while both the titanium body and stainless-steel base receive DLC treatment. This construction is intended to reduce unwanted sound smearing.

Easier installation

Tapered terminals have narrowed tips to make delicate headshell leads easier to attach. The cartridge is supplied in a premium wooden presentation case inspired by traditional Japanese Yosegi craftsmanship, together with a dedicated stylus-cleaning brush. Stylus replacement is handled through an authorised dealer.
